This thesis explores how digital interventions are practically used to address occupational mental health (OMH) issues within occupational health care. A scoping review was conducted to map existing literature on the topic, including a total of 22 articles.  The use of digital interventions was examined from two perspectives: that of the client and the health care professional.

The findings show that digital interventions are commonly used in both workplace and health care settings to address stress, depression, anxiety, distress, sleep disturbances, and, to a lesser extent, burnout. These interventions are applied across all levels of prevention to promote mental well-being, prevent and manage OMH issues, and support recovery and a return to optimal functioning.

Among the most widely used and effective digital tools were online therapies, particularly cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). In Finland, low-threshold online therapy and self-help tools available through the national website Mielenterveystalo.fi are frequently used to support individuals across the country. These online therapies are also included in the Finnish Current Care Guidelines (Käypä hoito -suositus) for treating depression.

While the primary audience for these findings is health care professionals, the results are also relevant for clients, employers, and technology developers, as digital mental health interventions are typically developed through a multi-professional approach.
